The best choice seemed to be Bay Mills, even though I knew that smoking could be an issue. We recently visited the Upper Peninsula and I wanted to stay somewhere a notch above the mom and pop level hotel that is the usual hotel/motel in that part of the world. Well, they are trying - but it's a big job. This should work out better for others who want. I'm not a gambler, and I know I'm not a good fit for the place. I didn't see any sort of business center or fitness area around. After reading about a $2 breakfast buffet special to casino card holders somewhere for seniors, we were greeted with a $9 per person bill after finishing the meal. The rooms themselves were OK in that sense, but it was tough to get to them without a cough or two. I give full credit to the woman at check-in who understood the situation and did the best she could to help. The gambling areas are full of smoke, because the two demographics seem to go together for many, and it leaks through the single doors pretty easily. Well, the non-casino areas have been converted to non-smoking, but realistically, it's impossible to keep it out of such places.
